Environmental Vision for Omaha

Nov 6, 2008 - OWH 1B
"Omaha leaders will formulate environmental vision for city. It's the next step in a master plan process that draws on input from Omaha By Design." The plan is split into 5 areas: Natural Environment; Building Construction; Urban Form/Transportation; Resource Conservation; and Community Health.

Omaha By Design Environmental Element further explains the process and those heading up the advisory committees. "Marty Shukert, RDG Planning and Design, will chair the Urban Form/Transportation Advisory Committee." Marty is an avid cyclist and involved with the Mayor's advisory committee to get Omaha certifide as a bikeable community.

"A community kickoff meeting is set for Thursday, Dec. 4, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Scott Conference Center. Additional details will be provided as the event nears."

This environmental element is an exciting development, not just for cycling transportation, but reveals the greening conscience of Omaha. Please represent yourself and the cycling community by attending the kickoff meeting.
