Just reading the Council Bluffs Xtreme Wheels blog, there was a post about a poll on Des Moine's Channel 7 station's website. The poll asks, "A group is promoting a plan to ban bicycles from rural roads. Do you agree with the idea?" Granted, not many of us Omahans ride the rural roads of Iowa every day, but banning any roads to cyclists is not acceptable. Please voice your opinion on that site.
I doubt this group could ever pass their plan through, because RAGBRAI would pretty much be ended and that wouldn't work for many small towns in rural Iowa. But not speaking up could be disastrous.
