Volunteer Bike Valets Needed!!

We have a FUN and easy volunteer opportunity for you!

OmahaBikes is going to begin providing free valet bike parking at community events, and the first up is Shakespeare on the Green. We want to encourage people to ride to Elmwood Park for the event by providing a convenient, safe and secure place for their bikes. This will require us to have at least 2 volunteers available at each night’s performance to check the bikes in and out, and to keep an eye on the bikes for the evening. This will be a free service, but we will encourage people to give a donation to OmahaBikes in return for this service.

Date: Thurs-Sunday nights starting this week: July 1-4 and July 8-11
Time: 7:00p – 10:45p (Performances run 8p – 10:15p or so)
Location: Elmwood Park – the bike corral will be set up right next to the stage
What to bring: A lawn chair or blanket to sit on; whatever else will make your job comfortable (adult beverages are allowed in the park, feel free to bring a cooler!)
What we will provide: instructions/materials needed to check the bikes in and out, instructions on what to do with the donations received, our gratitude. J

Additional Incentive: Matt Martin, an OmahaBikes member, is the facilities director for this event, and has offered to arrange some reserved seating at SotG performances for those who volunteer and would like to come back on a later date to see the show!

Who to contact if interested: Julie at jharris(at)activateomaha(dot) org or 934-5971.

We hope you will consider this opportunity to give back while also helping to make Omaha more bike friendly!!
