Google now supports "Bicycling" directions. It may not be perfect, but it's a start. "Give it a try" and tell us what you think.

While your playing with Google Maps, take a minute to swing by and sign the petition. is dedicated to bringing together people who are passionate about bikes. Our goal is to gather a million names of support, and to speak with one, powerful voice—to make bicycling safer, more convenient, and more appealing to everyone.

So I tried out the "Bicycling" directions on Google maps with my commuting route to work. I go a bit out of my way to use the Keystone trail for most of my commute North. Once I dragged Google's proposed bicycle directions to include the Keystone, it matched my route perfectly.

I've been commuting this way for almost 4 years and I've found a few shortcuts along the way. Google maps found those shortcuts on the first attempt INCLUDING the route I take through the Calvary Cemetery that I only just found this year.

Way to go Google Maps.
